Vultisig Share Decoder
A client-side tool for decoding vault shares from Vultisig multi-signature wallets.
I built a Vultisig Share Decoder — a client-side tool for decoding the vault share backups that Vultisig multi-signature wallets produce.
Vultisig uses threshold signature schemes (TSS) for multi-sig wallets, where each device holds a share of the signing key rather than the full private key. When you back up your vault, you get encoded share files. This tool lets you inspect what’s inside those shares without uploading them anywhere.
Everything runs entirely in the browser. No data leaves your machine. That was a hard requirement — the whole point of a multi-sig wallet is that no single party has full access, so a decoder that phones home would defeat the purpose.
The tool parses the share format, decodes the cryptographic components, and displays the vault metadata and key share information in a readable format. It’s useful for verifying backups, debugging setup issues, or just understanding what your share file actually contains.
